One by one I tug and pluck compulsively at what will one day be a great beard
Two by two like Noah knew to do to please the Lord
The most important person that I ever spoke words with
Was the bassist of a band I used to love
What does that say about god?
What does that say about me?
What does that say about how I justify my priorities?
And I type it out on a tiny keypad with my two big thumbs and thousand little reasons
I am underworked. I am overpaid.
I rolled out of bed at 3PM today
The most important thing I think I've ever done
Was write a record I can't stand
The most important thing I think I'll ever do
Is write a record I can say I genuinely enjoy
And that is selfish cause I am selfish
And everyone I've ever met is selfish
Can you say you've ever met a selfless soul?
What does that say about god?
What does that say about us?
What does that say about the people or things into which we put our trust?
What does that say about us?
What does that say about god?
If there's a reason to breathe, then I still can't see it But I'm working on figuring out what it's not

One of the more sprawling and eclectic albums in the Taxpayers catalogue, A Rhythm In The Cages isn't as airtight as some of its siblings, but it is absolutely bursting with incredible songs. Punk, blues, folk, noise, and unclassifiable weirdness abound. "Militaristic Kitchen," "Dig Too Deep," "Cuyahoga Canal," and "Stealing Apples From The Man" are all eccentric, hooky classics that will live in your head for days. There's really something for everyone here. K.R.K.

First time I have ever paid for a music download. Got here through recommendations from my Son. Raw and powerful, made me cry. Thank you for being creative with your emotions ❤️Ray Thompson (72 years young) 😊 raysax66

All of Pat the Bunny's music is worth checking out. I have a lot of memories tied to these songs. He's an incredibly talented artist and hugely inspiring. Listen to his older music too! stevenrf7
